Good Enough to Eat

	Good Enough for 20+ Years on the UWS - I had dinner at the bar at Good Enough To Eat last night. I asked the bartender if anyone on the staff was a part owner in the restaurant, because they all seemed so comfortable and professional in their demeanor. She said no, that there is only one owner ... and another staff member struck up a conversation with me describing how nice it was to work there and how different it is from other restaurants. The atmosphere is very comfortable, with backgroun music, a high-def television over the bar and a nicely decorated interior. My steak and spinach with a unique blue cheese butter sauce was delicious. For around $45 with tip for my dinner and 2 glasses of a nice spicy Syrah, dinner was well worth it.

	Crowded Restaurant with Comfort Classics - This ever-popular restaurant evokes a homey atmosphere- from the white picket fence where patrons line up weekly just to score a seat- to the country accessory adorned brick walls inside. The food continues the homey theme, with comfort classics such as corned beef hash to meatloaf to macaroni and cheese appearing on the menu. But GETE, as fans call it, has new twists on old favorites: peach french toast made with cinnamon swirl bread and a BLT omelet cooked with gruyere cheese. The strawberry butter is a creamy, decadent extra. If you plan to visit, be prepared to wait and be prepared for the noisy, crowded atmosphere inside that regularly results in less than ideal service.
