- With its understated yet modern decor, Polished is one of the most aesthetically pleasing places to get a mani/pedi on the UWS, but it's unfortunately not one of the friendliest. While the nail technicians at Polished communicate more with clients than the typical nail technician, they lack a welcoming, friendly attitude. My nail technician stopped working on my nails when she learned that I wanted my nails trimmed; she told me that the other nail technician would finish my nails. I waited a full ten minutes before the other nail technician continued with my manicure. However, she apologized for my wait and the manicure was one of the neatest and fastest manicures I've received. It was also a bit longer lasting than most manicures. Polished has Zoya, a long lasting, non-toxic nail polish available only in a few salons. Despite the pleasant decor and expert manicure, the cold attitude I received from the moment I walked in the door to the lack of a "Thank you and Goodbye" when I left, likely won't motivate me to return.
