“What About Us” is a musical performance featuring todayʼs youth taking on tough issues using song and dance to illustrate a more positive and peaceful world. Professional gospel singers including Robert Robertson and Darnell Davis from Minneapolis join the 84 voiced choir to bring the thrill of gospel and pop to new heights. Songs from groups such as the Black Eyed Peas, Johnny Lang, Michael Jackson, Kirk Franklin, and Minnesotaʼs own gospel composer Darnell Davis will fill the two hour show with energy that will spark hope for a better and more accepting world. For families with young children, this event is a wonderful opportunity for a health-promoting activity for all on a summer morning in beautiful Central Park. Older children can run the four-mile race with Dad (and Mom!), while younger kids (ages 2-12) can register for the kids' races. Blue Note Jazz Festival

At the age of 18, urban chanteuse, Amel Larrieux wrote and demoed a song, which led to her pairing with musician/producer Bryce Wilson to form the duo Groove Theory. When brothers Neal and Alan Evans first invited guitarist Eric Krasno to get down at their Woodstock, NY studio, it was out of mutual love for the great soul-jazz organ trios of the 60’s and 70’s. As The Roots’ drummer and joint front-man, DJ ?uestlove is well known across the musical sphere.
